SHiNE - The Society for the Homeschool Network of Edmonton.
SHiNE Edmonton is a secular, inclusive non-profit organization dedicated to creating a strong, diverse community of homeschooling families. We provide educational opportunities, social programs, and emotional support that reflect the core values of inclusivity, respect, and family empowerment.
Founded by local parents for local families, SHiNE is a place where home-educating families connect, learn, grow, and thrive—together.
🎓 Programs for Kids
Each year we offer a wide variety of programs and activities to enrich our members educational experience. While we don’t offer the exact same events and programs each year, here are some examples of what we’ve offered in the past:
- Adventure such as Laser tag, Activate and Arial Park
- 6 week programs for Woodworking and at Marine Life at West Edmonton Mall
- Music, art and theatre programs, and tickets to close to a dozen plays
- Skiing at Snow Valley, Rabbit Hill and a trip to Marmot in Jasper
- Community Parties
- Nature programs at Muttart Conservatory and UofA Botanical gardens, Foraging and bushcraft
- Camp Yowochas
